Attention Swine!
A special
award will be made at Swine Bowl L to the Swine with the most nearly
perfect attendance record. Submit your claim by e-mail to Julie
(jgreeman@snet.net), who will post it on the web site. Then we can
attack each other's claims and argue about it right up to game time.
Some obvious candidates (with anecdotal support):
Hertz (missed only two while living in France)
Boom (missed one in Canada, slept through one)
Mark Taylor (once claimed unbroken string of 26)
Peter Greeman (missed one ten years ago?)
Aaron Breslaw (has never missed a game in his lifetime, until
now)
Respectfully submitted,
The Swine Bowl Awards Committee
JODY'S CLAIM: I've missed one (1963) in my lifetime (though was too young to participate in the first 2, back in Larchmont), but NONE over the last 40 years. This is probably the longest string of any participant. A Swine Forever, Jody
BOOM RETALIATES: Some of those missed punts count against you.
JODY RESPONDS: I will brook no disparaging remarks about my level of performance. There was a time (I believe the term is my heyday) when I made a significant contribution - and, in future years, as others' skills continue to deteriorate alarmingly, expect to do so again. Look out for me at the 60th. See you Saturday, Jody
PETER CHIMES IN: i would like to add to jody's boast (plea, complaint) that back in the day, i had my heyminute also (grrrrr) and some day a greeman will dominate again!!! (no mercy)
PETER'S CLAIM: missed two while living in england--64, 65--otherwise perfect, i think....(even came home on leave from the army to play in 54 or 55)
